Opway launched four 100G single wave optical modules for telecommunication application

100G single wave is an optical specification that uses PAM4 modulation technology to achieve single-wavelength 100Gbps transmission. The specification was released by the 100G Lambda Multi-Source Agreement(MSA) working group to provide a more cost-effective solution for 100G/400G applications. The traditional 100G solution uses four 25Gbps optical channels to achieve 100G transmission through wavelength-division multiplexing or channel parallel. Each channel requires separate transmitting and receiving devices, which imposes high requirements on the power consumption, spatial layout, and cost of optical modules.The 100G single wave optical module reduces the number of optical transmitting and receiving units from four to one, effectively reducing the optical complexity of the optical module, greatly reducing the number of components, and simultaneously reducing the cost.As 100G single wave adopts single-channel PAM4 technology, it makes the upgrade of 100G to 4X100G (ie 400G) a reality, and the technology of using 4X100G to realize 400G is also the development direction of 400G.
